This place itself is what defines Arches on a lot of pictures or promotion material. The arch itself is much bigger in reality than what it might look like on those pictures. To see it in person, you… Full review by Jana K

Weather permitting, I would recommend that you never pass up the opportunity to view a sunset at Delicate Arch. For many people this is one of those once in a lifetime experience. Full review by homebrewer99

I planned this trip last minute, and when I get here, I find out the Delicate Arch is inside a National Park and you must make a reservation before 4 p.m. to go in. I wish I would’ve seen this, but I… Full review by Iseek17
Looking to drive West in a couple of weeks but concerned with the wildfires and smoke traveling East. Anyone been to The Mighty Five just this past week? Is it hazy? Smokey? Poor air quality? I know there was a Fire Weather Watch and now a Red Flag Warning for SW Utah. Would appreciate any insight as we’re all the way over in Chicago. TIA!

We were there this past week & skies were a beautiful blue, with no haze or smoke. Air quality was great, and we couldn't have asked for better weather!
Would this hike be do-able for the average 4-year old?

My plan was to see and get pictures at the Delicate Arch but I am unsure as how to get there. I am also a solo traveler with no car? Is it still possible?

You can hire an outfitter in Moab to drop you and pick you back up at a certain time. If you want to spend some time at Delicate Arch, you can make an arrangement where the outfitter picks you up after 4 hours. Telephone network can be a real problem in these areas so stick to the time.
How scary is the "ledge" you have to walk getting Delicate Arch? I see many people comment that kids and anyone can do it, but even the pictures make me queezy. It looks decently wide for unless there is a lot of people. Is it very long?

I was worried about it too, but decided to be brave, after reading someone's review that said that the "narrow" part is actually a couple of feet wide. I don't remember if that's actually what it is, but to me that's fine. The traffic on this ledge is two-way, so sometimes you have to step aside to accommodate that. I always chose the rock side, not the cliff side ;) And i am glad I decided to give it a try. It's majestic!
Planning a sunset hike in August...does the parking lot fill up? How early would we need to get there if so?
A:
The parking lot fills pretty early. I would try to arrive no later than 2-2.5 hrs before sunset to ensure you get a spot. You will not be alone up near the arch. It's amazing how crowded it gets …
