Georgia prosecutors placed Jose Ibarra, the suspect accused of murdering Augusta University nursing student Laken Riley, at the scene of the crime on the morning of Feb. 22.

Ibarra is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another. He faces 10 charges in total, which he denies, and he has waived his right to a jury trial.

A former roommate of the man charged with murder in the death of Laken Riley — the Georgia nursing student whose killing set off a political firestorm over immigration — testified Monday that he is the man seen in a video throwing away a jacket that prosecutors say had Riley’s blood on it.
