Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 2: 42nd Holy Chhari Yatra by Shiv Sena (UBT) was taken out from famous Shri Raghunath Ji temple, Jammu today in the form of a Shoba yatra. Bal Saint Sahil Ji Maharaj flagged off the Yatra by showing the saffron flag.

Day 1 Navaratri: On day 1 of Navaratri devotees throng Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra for puja of Maa Sharadiya.

JAMMU: Amid multi-tier security arrangements, the nine-day-long festival of Navratri began with religious fervor, as over 45,000 pilgrims undertake the pilgrimage daily to pay obeisance at the cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi in the Trikuta hills of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.

The nine-day long Navratri festival began on Thursday at the three-peaked cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Trikuta Hills amid religious fervour and gaiety. A total of 33,000 pilgrims reached Katra for their onward journey to the cave shrine up to 5 pm on Thursday.

Devotees, in huge numbers, reached Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine on the occasion of the second day of Sharadiya Navratri. Goddess Durga is worshipped in the form of Mata Brahmacharini on the second day of Navratri.
