The Burdoin fire burning on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge grew to 8,700 acres on Sunday and is 0% contained. Level 3 (go now) evacuations are in effect for residents in Lyle and High Prairie in Klickitat County.

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (KATU) — The Burdoin Fire burning the Columbia River Gorge remains uncontained on Sunday, July 20. Fire officials said Sunday afternoon that the fire had burned 8,776 acres, a smaller size than announced this morning. Officials say better mapping allowed them to get a more accurate size of the fire.

SR 14 and SR 142 remain closed in Klickitat County due to the Burdoin Fire, which started Friday, July 18, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. As of Friday evening, SR 14 is closed in both directions between milepost 66 near Bingen and milepost 75.8 near the junction with SR 142.
