The Islanders have re-signed Maxim Tsyplakov to a contract extension in a deal that should benefit both sides.

Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov, a restricted free agent, avoided an arbitration hearing and agreed to a two-year deal on Friday. The contact, as first reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, carries an annual average value of $2.25 million.

The New York Islanders have signed Maxim Tsyplakov to a two-year contract. Last season, Tsyplakov scored 35 points (10 goals and 25 assists) in 77 games with the Islanders.
