It's transfer portal season, once more. More than 1,200 players declared their intention to transfer to the NCAA in the first three days of the transfer period, which began Monday, with many more expected before it closes Dec.

Jordon Simmons was a member of Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class, the last of Mark Dantonio’s tenure, but was retained when Mel Tucker got to campus. Simmons then spent the next four seasons in East Lansing, before transferring to Akron for this past season. The former Spartan is now in the transfer portal once again.

The transfer portal closed on Dec. 28, making it the last day players could submit their paperwork to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Now, with so many people entering, the portal has been slow updating,

Michigan football is loading up in the transfer portal as of late and though most schools appear to be set, the Wolverines look to be far from finished. Whether it's some of the top targets remaining on the board like UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell or

MSU has gotten a very strong portal haul at receiver, adding Omar Kelly and Chrishon McCray. While the starting group has been established, the Spartans may take a flier on D2 transfer DJ Black, who has 4.3 speed. Black visited East Lansing this past week.

Michigan football went on a five-day clock following the ReliaQuest Bowl win over Alabama in terms of roster retention. The transfer portal had closed on Dec. 28 but players have until five days after the final game for their respective teams to enter.
