The Texas Rangers on Monday named three-time All-Star Bret Boone as hitting instructor, one day after relieving offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker from duties. Boone, 56, will join the club on Tuesday for the start of the Rangers’ series against the Boston Red Sox. This is his first MLB coaching job.
