The final day of the Presidents Cup is here. After back-to-back session sweeps to open this year's event at Royal Montreal in Quebec, the U.S. Team pushed ahead on Saturday to take an 11-7 lead entering the final day.

The top-ranked International player, Hideki Matsuyama, wasn’t as fortunate. Matsuyama and Sungjae Im dropped both of their matches, with neither reaching the 18th hole. For the day, Matsuyama lost 6.75 strokes total, per Data Golf. Hideki had the worst strokes gained tee-to-green number of any player in the Saturday afternoon session (-2.34).

Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa began the day against Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith, in a match that was tied for 12 of its 17 holes. The United States won, 2&1, but until the 17th hole never held more than a one-hole lead.

The Presidents Cup crowd in Montreal on the opening day was cordial, mild-mannered Canadians and it seems the International Presidents Cup team needed a hockey crowd breathing fire onto the Royal Montreal course.

The Americans have not lost a Presidents Cup in 26 years but the International Team can setup Royal Montreal to its advantage.

The Internationals were rightly in an ebullient mood after one of the most dramatic turnarounds in the event’s 15-edition history. Waxed 5-0 by the favored American squad on Thursday in fourball, they responded with a shutout of their own, sweeping all five alternate-shot foursomes matches to tie the score 5-5 heading into the weekend.

The International Team completely flipped the Presidents Cup script on Friday afternoon.
