The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s is in search of a murder suspect who reportedly fled after a traffic stop on Monday. Around 8:30 p.m., SJSO said it initiated a ‘high-risk traffic stop’ on a suspect wanted for attempted homicide in Calaveras County.

A suspect wanted for attempted homicide in Calaveras County remains at large after leading a chase that ended in neighboring San Joaquin County, authorities said Monday night.

Officials said deputies tried to pull over the suspect, who is wanted for attempted homicide out of Calaveras County, near Interstate 5 and Ben Holt Drive around 7 p.m.
