Brazil's Palmeiras registered a 2-0 victory over Egypt's Al Ahly in the FIFA Club World Cup on Thursday in a match that was disrupted by adverse weather conditions at the Metlife Stadium. Palmeiras struck twice early in the second half to build a good lead before weather disrupted proceedings.

Palmeiras overcame a 50-minute weather interruption in their second game at the Club World Cup to beat Al Ahly of Egypt 2-0 at the MetLife Stadium and go to the top of the Group A table.
