U.S. and Chinese officials began a second day of talks in Stockholm on Tuesday to resolve longstanding economic disputes and step back from an escalating trade war between the world's two biggest economies.

Chinese and US delegations met for their second day of trade negotiations in Stockholm, with both sides said to be aiming to extend a truce due to end in two weeks' time. The 90-day truce is meant to end on August 12.

The United States has struck deals over tariffs with some of its key trading partners since President Trump announced “Liberation Day” tariffs against dozens of countries in April.
