The American GFS model has backed off from earlier snow forecasts, while the European (EURO) model continues to suggest a possibility of 1 to 3 inches of snow across Pensacola to Tallahassee in the Florida Panhandle.
Another surge of cold air will move into the region starting Sunday night as our next cold front moves through South Florida. While it won't be as cold as Friday morning, low temperatures will tumble to the upper 40s and lower 50s by Monday morning.
There's a chance Florida will see snow this weekend following frigid temperatures that prompted warnings across the state.
As far as the amount of snow that falls in the eastern parts of Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware, as well as farther up along the mid-Atlantic coast and into southeastern New England, that will depend on the exact track of the storm, as a small shift can make a big difference, Sosnowski said.
