The NTA plans to provide 195 bikes for hire in Galway. Users will pay a registration fee of €10 to subscribe to the service and pay charges if they rent a bike for more than 30 minutes at a time.

Each bike in Galway was used just 2.2 times per week in 2017 (23,758 journeys/205 bikes) — compared with 84 in Paris, and the average of 28-49 uses per week in regional European cities.
