Three-time defending NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Mac McClung will not defend his title, electing not to participate in the 2026 All-Star showcase.

Mac McClung announced that he will not participate in the Dunk contest this year, ending a historic four-peat officially.

Speaking of, the 3X reigning Slam Dunk contest champion announced this weekend that he has decided on whether or not to compete in the 2026 contest. Mac McClung has been wowing judges, fans, and fellow players for three straight years. But unfortunately, we will not get to see him this time.

The dunk contest has fallen on hard times, but Reggie Miller credited Mac McClung for not letting it completely implode.

The Los Angeles Lakers' Jaxson Hayes and San Antonio Spurs' Carter Bryant have agreed to participate in the contest, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Thursday. The news comes after three-time defending Slam Dunk Contest champion Mac McClung confirmed he would not be participating in the event.

The Minnesota Timberwolves added some guard depth ahead of the trade deadline. The Wolves announced a trade for the Chicago Bulls' Ayo Dosunmu. Minnesota sent Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller and four second-round picks to Chicago for Dosunmu amd Julian Phillips.
