Eddie Garcia, the former Dallas police chief, has been named the new chief of the Fort Worth Police Department, City Manager Jay Chapa announced Thursday afternoon.

The city of Fort Worth officially welcomed its new police chief on Friday morning. Eddie Garcia said he's ready to work tirelessly for the people of Fort Worth.

The City of Fort Worth officially introduced Eddie Garcia as the new Police Chief today at a press conference held at City Hall. Fort Worth City Manager Jesus “Jay” Chapa and Mayor Mattie Parker provided comments to guests and media in attendance.
