8M gallons of wastewater a day entering Merrimack River due to Haverhill sewer breaks
Approximately 8 million gallons of wastewater per day are entering the Merrimack River as a result of two sewage main breaks in Haverhill, Massachusetts, over the weekend, the mayor’s office said in an update Monday.
The closure follows the discovery of two breaks in a 42-inch sewer force main in Haverhill.
