The massive winter weather system that will impact 240 million people across more than 40 states is wreaking havoc on air travel as flight delays and cancellations are impacting airports across the country.

The winter storm barreling across the southeastern United States this weekend could cancel thousands of flights and disrupt air traffic for more than a week.

There were 404 flight delays and 27 flight cancellations as of 3:15 p.m., according to the flight tracking website FlightAware.
