Tropical Storm Fay formed in the Atlantic Ocean Sept. 20, according to a National Hurricane Center forecast advisory, but there are no coastal watches or warnings, or threats to land. Fay's 45 mph winds were about 450 southwest of the Azores moving to the north northeast at about 5 mph.

Tropical Storm Gonzalo, the seventh named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, joined Tropical Storm Fay during the night. Fay could strengthen over the next 12 hours before beginning to weaken. Gonzalo isn't expected to last too long, either, although some strengthening is possible today before it begins to weaken over the weekend.

Tropical Storm Fay is far out there and across Central Florida, the greater concern will be afternoon thunderstorms.

Closer to Florida, AccuWeather is keeping an eye on conditions in the northern Gulf for a potential "homegrown" tropical threat.
