Before Monday night, the stadium's retractable roof hadn't been opened for a Cowboys home game since October 2022.

Before the game, the domed roof at AT&T Stadium could be seen being opened, something that hasn't happened for a Cowboys game in over two years. Unfortunately, plans to play the game under the night sky in Arlington were foiled after a metal sheet fell off the roof, forcing the stadium to close the dome back up.

The roof at AT&T Stadium can be fixed. As for the problems plaguing the Cowboys this season, especially in their home building, maybe not after a 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans on Monday night. Dallas (3-7) is 0-5 at home for the first time since 1989,

The roof of AT&T Stadium has been closed after a piece of it fell while it was being opened ahead of the Dallas Cowboys’ game on “Monday Night Football” against the Houston Texans. The piece of metal became loose and fell to the field (with some additional small debris) while the roof was in the process of opening.
