A total of 228,221 Jeep Wranglers built for MY20-25 and 91,844 Grand Cherokees that rolled off the line for MY22-26 are caught up in a recall related to a fire risk. Only models with a 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain are a problem because the issue has been traced to the hybrid system’s Samsung battery pack.
Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf weighed in on the Native American naming controversy during an interview with Newsweek.
“On October 31, 2025, the Company’s direct and indirect subsidiaries established in the United States filed voluntary petitions for creditor protection under Chapter 7 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code which included each of Exro Technologies USA, Inc., Exro Vehicle Systems, Inc., SEA Electric, Inc. and SEA Electric, LLC,” it shared in a media release.
