"Basic Instinct" writer Joe Eszterhas is writing an "anti-woke" reboot of the film for Amazon MGM, with Sharon Stone expected to return.

Amazon MGM and producer Scott Stuber have obtained the rights to relaunch Basic Instinct, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, who penned the original 1992 erotic thriller, is on board to write the project. Stuber, Nik Nesbit, and Craig Baumgarten will produce the film.

Sharon Stone is also circling the 'Basic Instinct' reboot to potentially reprise her role as bisexual novelist Catherine Tramell.
