Gio Insignares reports from North Hollywood, just one of the many neighborhoods suffering through widespread power outages in the midst of destructive wildfires and powerful windstorms battering Los Angeles County.

The intense Santa Ana winds caused power outages for nearly 50,000 homes in Los Angeles County Tuesday night. Ahead of the strong storm, officials predicted this weather will "likely be the most destructive windstorm seen since 2011.

Southern California is battling three wildfires in Los Angeles County, the largest of which is in the Pacific Palisades, and none of them have been contained yet. The fires continue to spread, with dangerously strong Santa Ana winds and very dry conditions fanning the flames.

Nearly 100,000 people and businesses remained without power Thursday as wildfires continue to rage across Southern California. As of about 5:30 a.m. local time, just over 91,000 outages had been reported,

The massive Palisades Fire broke out in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon, prompting mandatory evacuations affecting tens of thousands of people and highway closures. Later Tuesday, the Eaton Fire broke out in the foothills of Pasadena on the other side of Los Angeles County.
