A group led by Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca has reached a deal to buy the Connecticut Sun for a record $325 million and move the team to Boston.

Steve Pagliuca is set to leave the Boston Celtics ownership group. But he’s reportedly set to bring another professional basketball team to Boston. According to the Boston Globe, an ownership group led by Pagliuca has reached a deal with the Mohegan Tribe to purchase the WNBA’s Mohegan Sun and move the team to TD Garden.

The league still must approve the sale, which will be for a record $325 million, and declared Saturday nine other cities which sought WNBA expansion franchises "have priority over Boston."
