Putting this method into practice, the Bode plot is extracted from an LM317 regulator with a 100uF tantalum output capacitor, operating at 25mA load current.

Some calculations on the result reveal how much of the signal is attenuated and its phase, resulting in a Bode plot. The filtering is done through digital signal processing from a microcontroller.
