A newly expanded military spouse scholarship program run by the Defense Department will be capped at the first 1,250 approved applicants, officials announced.
A change to a military spouse scholarship program signed into law late last year dramatically increases who can use MyCAA and the subjects for which it can be used.
Any MyCAA enrollee currently using funds for a four-year program will be permitted to use that money for fall enrollment, but not after October 25.
“We want military spouses that are now included, to research MyCAA and consider calling as soon as possible to see if they can apply,” says Jay Brown, ACS Employment Readiness Program specialist.
The military says unanticipated popularity of the MyCAA program made limiting it a fiscal necessity.
