A Palestinian official reported shooting and explosions in the flashpoint West Bank town of Jenin on Wednesday as Israeli forces pressed a raid that the military described as a "counterterrorism" operation.

The Israeli army on Tuesday evening killed a Palestinian man in front of his wife and three children while driving a car in Jenin city in the northern occupied West Bank amid ongoing Israeli incursion. A video filmed by the family that went viral on social media documented the last moment of Ahmed Shayeb when he was shot and injured while driving.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Jenin has now claimed 10 Palestinian lives, with the latest victim being 29-year-old Mahmoud Ibrahim Jaradat, who was killed by Israeli gunfire in the village of Ta’nek, west of Jenin.

The Palestinian health ministry, based in Ramallah, said the operation had killed eight people, just days after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Red Crescent said its first responders treated seven people injured by live ammunition and that Israeli forces were hindering their access to the area.

Palestinian Authority security forces exited the area following a month-long operation of its own against local Palestinian terror groups.

Yesterday (Tuesday), the IDF, ISA, and Israel Border Police forces began a operation in Jenin. Over the past day, the Israeli security forces have hit over 10 militants. Additionally, aerial strikes on infrastructure sites were conducted and numerous explosives planted on the routes by the militants were dismantled.

Israel has begun a military operation in the occupied West Bank focused on the city of Jenin. Palestinians there worry the focus of the conflict is shifting over to them following a ceasefire in Gaza.
