In the few days since he returned to the White House, President Donald Trump’s sweeping executive orders and mass pardons have shattered political and legal norms. But one order is in a category of its own.

Multiple states and cities are suing President Donald Trump over his executive order ending birthright citizenship. Their argument is that a person born in the United States is a citizen of the United States and is protected under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

A federal judge in Seattle has temporarily blocked Donald Trump's attempt to end birthright citizenship in the US. US District Court Judge John Coughenour called Trump's executive order "blatantly unconstitutional" and issued a restraining order blocking it from going into force after a 25-minute hearing on Thursday.
