In addition to being a prequel to Scott's Alien lore, the show also explores themes of AI, where synthetic/artificial bodies are being developed to place human consciousness. Chandler's character, Wendy, is the first prototype of this hybrid between humans and artificial bodies, and is tasked with saving Earth from other life forms.
The Alien franchise has always understood something very important about the sci-fi genre: there’s gotta be some cool and/or weird names.
But in that Star Wars spin-off, Lawther played a character with limited screen time, an impressive cog in a vast, vast story. In Alien: Earth, Lawther is the story, or at least a major part of it. All of which leaves the impression that this show might just send the actor’s career into the stratosphere, past planet LV-426 and beyond.
