The Audi A4 is dead, but Audi's midsize four-ish-door lives on in the new A5, which also supplants the outgoing A5 Sportback in the lineup. Unfortunately for prospective A4 purchasers, that increment in the model name comes with a fairly substantial price bump compared to the outgoing car.

The A4 sedan is dead in place of just the A5, which is now priced close to but still more than its outgoing starting price for 2024.

Dimensionally, the 2025 Audi A5 is larger than the car it replaces, and the automaker promises it will have a spacious interior. That’s good because the previous-generation A5 Sportback felt snug, especially in the cramped back seat.

Audi has replaced the A4 sedan with the new 2025 A5, which arrives larger, more powerful, and more expensive. The model has a starting price of $48,995, a $3,600 increase compared to the A4 it replaces.
