As most of you reading this will already know, Maple Leafs centerman Cedric Pare has brought a ton of criticism down on himself after he appears to have seriously injured Montreal Canadiens star forward Patrik Laine when he went knee on knee with the Finnish forward.

Laine went down with a knee injury on Saturday's preseason matchup between the Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Pare collided with Laine and the newly-acquired forward was ultimately seen leaving the arena in crutches.

To say that Laine's start with the Canadiens has been scary would be an understatement. The veteran winger was spotted on crutches at Habs morning practice on Monday, two days after sustaining a brutal knee injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

So much of the Canadiens' optimism this season was based on Laine's ability to be a game-changer. Now he might be gone.
