A major security operation is underway at the visiting US president Donald Trump’s golf course. A large number of police and military personnel have been spotted searching the grounds of the Trump Turnberry golf resort in South Ayrshire, on the first full day of his trip.

Donald Trump arrived in Scotland for a five-day tour, but First Lady Melania Trump was not seen alongside him. Her absence meant she did not witness the demonstrations organised in response to the visit,

There was no warm welcome for Donald Trump to be found in Aberdeen city centre as hundreds gathered to oppose the visit of the US President. Union Terrace was decorated with flags and placards, some written in the spirit of the late Janey Godley and her infamous sign, as the Stop Trump Coalition protest got underway.

The protest comes weeks after President Donald Trump signed the controversial One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law.
