Tiger Woods' Sun Day Red brand is off to a rough start after legal action was taken over an alleged 'hijacking.'

A Louisiana-based company, Tigeraire, rejected Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red trademark filing because it believes SDR ‘hijacked’ its logo.

According to a court filing, Tiger Woods’ apparel brand, Sun Day Red, has “unlawfully hijacked” the logo belonging to Tigeraire, a company that makes cooling products for athletes. The filing was registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday Sept. 25.

In the 24-page brief, Sun Day Red lawyers allege that Tigeraire has challenged the trademark in hopes of extracting “an unwarranted financial windfall from a larger and more successful brand based on threats of legal action and demands for exorbitant sums.”

Tiger Woods’s Sun Day Red range of apparel was ridiculed for its bizarre name – as well as its upmarket prices – when launched earlier this year, but now the iconic golfer finds his clothing venture accused of “unlawful hijacking”.
