That's all from a wet finish to stage 17 of the Tour de France as Jonathan Milan wins a sprint finish for his second stage victory of his debut Tour. That also means the Italian rider strengthens his grip on the green jersey after stretching his points lead over Tadej Pogacar from 11 to 72.

The 19th stage of the Tour de France was shortened on Friday after cows infected by a contagious disease were culled in an area along the mountainous route.

Pogacar eventually made a move inside the closing stages, sprinting away from Vingegaard to finish nine seconds clear while collecting six bonus seconds for his second place, to his rival's four.
