Some X users on Wednesday asked Grok – the AI chatbot available through Elon Musk’s social media platform – questions about simple topics like baseball players or videos of fish being flushed down toilets.

Much like its creator, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence chatbot Grok was preoccupied with South African racial politics on social media this week, posting unsolicited claims about the persecution and “genocide” of white people.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more obvious example of the need for regulation of artificial intelligence than recent reports that Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, known as Grok, has been promoting white nationalist themes to X users.
