The Menendez brothers could be “out of prison by Christmas” now that the Los Angeles district attorney has scheduled a hearing to review new evidence their father sexually abused them, Ryan Murphy says.

Of course, the truth of the timing of all this is that it’s much more likely that Murphy (who recently asserted that his show was “the best thing that’s happened to the Menendez brothers in 30 years”) simply did the Ryan Murphy thing here and managed to glom on to a rising trend that was already picking up steam.

Attorneys in George Gascón’s office are reviewing the possibility that the Menendez brothers could be entitled to have their case reheard, or to be re-sentenced.
