Thursday, Oct 3: Latest developments on Category 3 Hurricane Kirk from the NHC
On Thursday at 5 am, the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory stating that Category 3 Hurricane Kirk is 1185 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands and 1645 miles southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 120 mph. It’s moving 10 mph to the northwest. Category 3 Hurricane Kirk is expected to strengthen.

As per the National Hurricane Center’s 4 pm Wednesday update, Category 1 Hurricane Kirk is 1330 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands and 1165 miles east-northeast of the Lesser Antilles, with maximum sustained wind of 90 mph. It’s moving 12 mph to the northwest. Kirk is forecast to change into a hurricane.
