A 9-year-old girl from Canada found dead in an upstate New York pond after her father reported her missing was drowned, according to preliminary autopsy results released Tuesday.
Authorities say an autopsy of the Montreal child found dead over the weekend determined she was the victim of a homicide.
Preliminary autopsy results show Melina Frattolin died by asphyxia due to drowning. Police are looking for more information about her father's movements the night they believe he killed her.
