The Packers got a glimpse of first-round rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden, but not much more than that, in Saturday night’s preseason opener against the New York Jets.

While both said after practice that they would be OK, all this was going on while quarterback Jordan Love was scheduled to undergo surgery on his left thumb.

Love has all the talent, Packers coach Matt LaFleur said, but the QB still needs to do two things to prove himself: stay healthy and win.
