A 12-year-old boy who was a passenger in a car that crashed into a parked moving van in Sherman Oaks has died.

A 12-year-old boy was killed late Wednesday morning when the vehicle he was riding in struck a parked box truck in Sherman Oaks. The crash was reported at 10:17 a.m. Wednesday on the 4400 block of Woodman Avenue, north of Moorpark Street and south of the 101 Freeway, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
