Ukraine's parliament voted on Thursday in favour of ratifying a minerals deal signed with the United States, an agreement Kyiv hopes will secure future military assistance from Washington in its fight to repel Russian troops.

Russia and Ukraine have both reported attacks on their forces on the first day of a 72-hour ceasefire called by President Vladimir Putin.

The Treasury secretary told his team to get to work on a full agreement after a public spat Feb. 28 between President Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Vice President JD Vance.
