Will Power races to nail-biting IndyCar Portland win for Team Penske
Power surged to the lead in the middle stages of the race and kept a charging Christian Lundgaard and Alex Palou at bay over the event’s second half to claim the BITNILE.com Grand Prix of Portland. It was the Australian’s first win of the year and the only victory for Team Penske in what’s been a tumultuous 2025 campaign.
Will Power admitted he considered retiring from racing to tend to his wife. But once she received the necessary care from the doctors, Power was able to return to Team Penske’s IndyCar operation.
Power is one of the most successful drivers in INDYCAR history. He is INDYCar’s fourth winningest driver with 44 wins and the record for most poles with 70.
Will Power, who heads into Sunday's finale up 21 points over Josef Newgarden and Scott Dixon, broke Mario Andretti's record by earning his 68th career pole on Saturday.
