Jul 1, 2012 · Magic Mike was a let down. If it had been a fluffy movie about strippers, I would have been ok with that. If it had been an unlikely love story, I would have enjoyed that. If it had been a revealing movie about the dark underbelly of a seemingly innocuous, flashy lifestyle, I would have been surprised and impressed.

Feb 10, 2023 · Magic Mike's Last Dance makes Magic Mike look like Magic Mike XXL. I wouldn't call this movie bad by any stretch of the imagination. I'm kind of surprised the critics are so low on it, but it definitely has some major flaws. If you're in it for abs and dance moves and some laughs along the way, I think this is just fine.

Magic Mike XXL is geniunely one of my favorite films ever (I usually get weird looks for saying that). There are few films that give me the euphoria that I get from that film. Just Tatum's physical performance and the final musical setpiece puts it above so many movies.
