NASA’s GEOS model shows how these particles can affect the air we breathe—even from far away. In this visualization of aerosol data from the GEOS model, different colors represent different aerosols. Sea salt is blue, dust is pink, smoke is orange, and sulfates from pollution and volcanoes are green. Data is shown for Aug. 1 to Sept. 1
