At the beginning of June, the WakeGov Pets: Wake County Animal Center waived all adoption fees for dogs that had been living in shelter pens for 21 days or more, for just one week. The center found itself in a critical situation as it neared maximum capacity, with an overwhelming number of animals in desperate need of permanent homes. In an effort to encourage adoptions, the Animal Center launched this campaign, providing everyone with an opportunity to adopt these dogs without any financial bur
