In 1936, during the first rodeo held in our arena, the Wild Cow Milking event became an integral part of the festivities. The cows, sourced locally, were Herefords. The event was conducted much like any other timed competition, with participants taking their turn one at a time. Positioned within a chalk circle in the arena, a judge oversaw each team, consisting of a roper on horseback and a mugger on the ground, along with a single cow released.
