Part 16 of my "Heritage" travel campaign. I visited the Cumberland Gap and also nearby Harlan County, Kentucky. Both places have a great deal of history and culture to them. Known as "Bloody Harlan" dating back to the violent labor disputes between coal operators and miners back in the 1930s. Harlan is the heart of Harlan County and has a long history in coal mining.
