The South African Police Service in the Westerrn Cape strongly condemns the violent shooting incident that claimed the lives of three young people in Samora Machel on Saturday morning, 24 January 2026. Serious and Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 11:55 in Oliver Tambo Drive. The South African Police Service (SAPS) wishes all police officers that are taking part in the Cape Town Sanlam Marathon the best of luck.
