‘Lovingly ripped-off’ from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Originally directed by Mike Nichols, the musical features music by Eric Idle and John Du Prez with lyrics and book by Idle. Tim Curry originated the role of King Arthur and appeared in the Chicago, Broadway and West End productions. Previews of the show began in Chicago at the Shubert Theatre on the 21st of December 2004; the show officially opened
