This humpback whale migration season, Sea World partnered with Griffith University and researcher Dr Olaf Meynecke from their Coastal and Marine Research Centre to conduct vital studies on the migrating mammals. Humpback whales have one of the most remarkable migration patterns on the planet. During the summer months, they feast in Alaska’s nutrient-rich, icy waters to bulk up for their journey. Then, as winter approaches, they embark on an incredible migration to Hawaii’s warm tropical seas. ❄️ This migration is nearly 3,000 miles / 4800 km!
