We encountered these inquisitive (and adorable) squid while on an expedition through the biodiverse seas of Indonesia!Squid are capable of changing the color and pattern of their skin in order to blend in with their surroundings or communicate with other squid. This ability is made possible by specialized cells called chromatophores, which can rapidly expand or contract to change their color.
